Andy Townsend has claimed that the best is yet to come from Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, who has started the season in brilliant form.

Grealish, who has joined up with England’s national squad for the international break, has played a key role in helping his team win five of their opening seven Premier League games.

The 25-year-old is a skilful attacker that has become so dangerous cutting inside from a left-winger position and is the talisman for Dean Smith’s side, with most of the team’s play going through him in the final third.

He’s played eight games across all competitions so far this campaign, scoring five goals and supplying five assists in return.

Former Villa player Townsend has been discussing the role the Villa captain should play in the national team and added that he feels there is so much more to come from him in the future, suggesting that he’s not year near his peak.

“I actually think there’s more to come from him. It’s not like he’s playing flat-out here and there is nowhere else for Jack Grealish to go. I think we are just seeing the start of what he can do,” Townsend told talkSPORT.

TBR’s View:

Smith has got his Villa side playing an exciting brand of football and they were electric at the weekend in the league victory over Arsenal.

Grealish appears to has taken his game up to another level and that’s got to be massively helped by playing alongside new signings such as Ollie Watkins and Ross Barkley, who appear to be on the same wavelength as him.

The creative playmaker is delivering the end product right now to make him one of the division’s most dangerous individuals right now and that’s why shouts for him to start for England continue to grow.
