Liverpool’s Andy Robertson has raved about Arsenal and Scotland defender Kieran Tierney ahead of Euro 2020.

Reds defender Robertson, 27, will captain Scotland this summer at the European Championship.

He will be joined by £25million star Tierney, along with plenty of other Premier League stars, as they look to create more Scottish history on the international stage.

There are so many exciting players part of Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad, but the Liverpool star and Arsenal ace are arguably the pick of the bunch.

Unfortunately, both are left-backs by trade, but can fit in the same system effectively with a three at the back formation that includes wing-backs.

As much as Robertson is key at Liverpool from the full-back position, 23-year-old Tierney plays a similar role at the Emirates Stadium for an Arsenal team that really rely on him at times.

Robertson has given a glowing verdict on the ability of his international teammate:

“KT is a fantastic, fantastic footballer,” Robertson said.

“He’s a pleasure to play alongside when we play five at the back. Me and him have got the balance right. We are both working well together defensively and going forward. We’ve proved to people we can play in the same team.

“I’ve got a lot of time for him as a person, but as a footballer he’s an incredible player. He’s still young people forget that. He’s still got a lot of potential ahead of him to get even better. He already is a fantastic player, but he’ll only get better and better with his attitude and the way he goes about the game. He’ll be a massive player for us (Scotland).”

Are Scotland dark horses at Euro 2020?

If Scotland get out of their group containing England, Croatia and Czech Republic, then they’ve had an amazing tournament.

They passed the first achievement of qualifying, but won’t want to stop there.

It seems like the Scotland squad is now stacked with players performing on the top level, something which is much different to previous years.

The left-hand side of defence with a Robertson-Tierney combination should unbreakable.
