Andy Robertson has called teammate Fabinho the best performing Liverpool player in the squad this season.
Robertson, 26, is a mainstay in the Reds XI under manager Jurgen Klopp and has been one of the most consistent players this year.
The Scottish left-back has named versatile star Fabinho as the standout though in the Liverpool group during the first half of the campaign.
Fabinho has been a star at Anfield in a defensive midfield position since he joined from Monaco back in 2018.
With so many injuries in the Reds squad this season, Liverpool have relied on the the 27-year-old as a centre-back for recent months and he’s stepped in effortlessly.
“He’s a silent assassin. I think he’s showed his versatility again, I don’t think he looks out of place [at centre-back]. He’s probably been our best performer this season. For me, if you were to give the awards now I’d give Fabinho player of the season,” Robertson told SoccerAM.

TBR’s View:
Fabinho certainly is a “silent assassin” in the way he goes about his work, which is why he’ll so often put in 8/10 performances and perhaps not grab the headlines like some of his attacking teammates.
The South American enforcer has done superbly at centre-half, but there is no doubt they miss his presence in the centre of the park.
Klopp managed to bring two new centre-backs into the Liverpool squad during the mid-season window and hopefully that can see Fabinho restored to midfield, where he can make even more of an impact.
