'That's probably why': Andy Robertson makes claim about Tottenham's two January signings ahead of Saturday's game

Liverpool face Tottenham this week in what will be a pivotal game for the title race, with some expecting Antonio Conte’s side to provide a stiff test.

Spurs need to win themselves in order to keep their top four hopes alive. For Liverpool, it’s probably the toughest game of their run-in as they go neck and neck with Manchester City to win the Premier League title. Earlier in the season, Tottenham held the Reds to a 2-2 draw. Of course, that sort of result would do just nicely for Pep Guardiola’s team right now, while Liverpool know they need to ensure they win out.

And Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has fired a warning to his team ahead of the game, insisting Tottenham are a better team since their January business.

What On Earth Is Going On At Bordeaux?

“I think they’re in a better moment now than they were then, made some good signings in the January window, signings that have made a big difference to them. And that’s probably now why they’re competing for the top four. Their best players are playing at the top level just now,” Robertson told LFC’s official website.

“So we need to be wary of their threats, they’ve got many, but we also have to believe we can punish them in areas we can hurt them. That’s what we’ve got to do. We have to be at our best, we can’t drop below that standard and if we do that we believe we can win any game of football, and that is no different on Saturday. But it is going to be incredibly tough, we know that.”

Spurs landed Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski in the winter window. Both players have been excellent, with Kulusevski in particular catching the eye in the final third.

TBR’s View: Tottenham Could Spoil The Party

Antonio Conte would love nothing more than to have a direct impact on the title race. Of course, he wants to win for his own team’s cause, but he’ll take some pleasure in derailing one of the big boys.

For Liverpool, they’ll be wary here and Robertson’s comments here shows they’ll be taking Spurs very seriously.
