Barry Douglas and former Leeds United goalkeeper Andy Lonergan have both reacted on Twitter after Helder Costa joined the Whites from Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.
Costa, 25, has joined Leeds on loan for an initial 12 months before the deal will become permanent next summer until June 2023. Many outlets have reported the deal as a four-year contract.
The Mirror have even reported that Leeds have splashed out a whopping £15million to sign the Portugal international, which is likely to be paid next summer if indeed that is what Leeds have spent.
Douglas is said to have spoke to Costa about Leeds after the two played together during Wolves’ promotion to the Premier League, while ex-Leeds stopper Lonergan also played alongside Costa. Both reacted on Twitter.

TBR’s view – Lonergan claim underlines how good Costa is
For an ex-player of Lonergan’s stature to inform fans that Costa is an exceptional player, with allegiances to both Wolves and Leeds, shows just how good the former Benfica and AS Monaco ace really is.
It is a major coup for the Whites to bring in a player of Costa’s quality. He was a lynchpin in the Midlands club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2017-18, scoring 15 goals and 14 assists in 71 outings.
