Rangers ace Andy Halliday has admitted that over the summer he was unsure on if he had a future at Ibrox, but manager Steven Gerrard has made the right decision in keeping him around the club.
The 27-year-old signed for his boyhood club back in 2015, but saw his first-team chance diminish last season when he was sent out on loan to Azerbaijan club Gabala FK.
But the left-footed ace has been given a reprieve under the new manager and is playing an important role in the squad this term.
“I didn’t think my future was at Rangers but thankfully the manager gave me that chance and showed faith in me. It’s up to me to repay that faith,” Halliday said in his pre-match press conference ahead of the weekend clash with Hamilton.

Halliday has become an important player for the Light Blues under Gerrard and has made 12 appearances across all competitions already.
He is a defensive midfielder by trade that is a combative enforcer in the centre of the park, but his versatility to slot in at left-back too when required is a major bonus.
The Scotsman has started to reignite his form for the Gers and is proving the club were right to keep him around.
Rangers’ hectic fixture list due to the Europa League and domestic competitions means they need a strong squad, something that Halliday is now very much a part of.
