Everton have lost in the Premier League yet again after a heartbreaking comeback from Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex.
Everton appeared to have fought back from 1-0 down to claim a 2-1 win after Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored either side of the break.
However, Neal Maupay scored a penalty to equalise before a starstruck Everton conceded a late own goal through Lucas Digne’s unfortunate desperate slide.

There was controversy though. Brighton’s second came from a penalty that seemed extremely harsh.
Former Everton striker and BBC Match of the Day pundit Gary Lineker certainly felt so, as he expressed on Twitter.
Another former Everton striker also commented on the decision. Andy Gray, speaking on beIN Sports could see both arguments.
“Marco Silva will be furious that that was given against him on VAR. Brighton will come back and say ‘well there was contact’.
“Are we going to, every time there is contact in the penalty area, we are going to be given some penalties on VAR we really are. Every time there is contact in the penalty area.
“I think Everton are entitled to be disappointed at that. Really disappointed. But Brighton will say there was contact.”
TBR’s View
It was undoubtedly a very harsh decision to have overturned but Everton’s players still have to take a long look at themselves.
After the goal was scored they completely fell apart and it always seemed as though Brighton were going to come back and score the winning goal.
The decision was a poor one but in the future, Everton’s under-performing players need to carry on and not go on to lose such a game.
