Cole Palmer is undoubtedly one of the most important players at Chelsea.

Indeed, Palmer is one of the best players in the world, and his attacking output is so important for the west London club.

The England international has established himself as a world-class talent, and he has certainly blossomed into a superstar.

However, according to Andrey Santos, Palmer isn’t actually the best player Chelsea have had in recent years.

Indeed, speaking to TNT Sports Brasil, Santos has been ranking and comparing some of his best teammates from his career, and he made an interesting claim about Palmer and one former Chelsea star.

Santos was tasked with picking between some brilliant players as a part of a TikTok challenge for TNT Sports.

Santos made it clear just how much he rates Palmer, picking him ahead of the likes of Vinicius Jr and Desire Doue.

However, in the final round, Santos had to pick between Cole Palmer and Thiago Silva, and he ultimately opted for the defender.

Palmer may be a world-class talent these days, but Silva is a true legend of the game in every sense of the word.

Palmer and Silva feel like two players from very different eras, but they did spend a season playing together at Chelsea.

Indeed, the 2023/24 season under Mauricio Pochettino saw Palmer and Silva both playing key roles for Chelsea as the Blues tried to recover from a truly dreadful 2022/23 campaign.

Interestingly, Silva and Palmer had a 50% win record when playing alongside one another.

Silva will always go down as a Chelsea legend due to his famous contributions to the Champions League win in 2021, while Palmer is very much on his way to forging his own historic legacy at Stamford Bridge too.

When all is said and done, these two may well be remembered as two of Chelsea’s greats.
