Leeds United are reportedly trying to lure Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Helder Costa to Elland Road this summer on a season-long loan – and Andrea Radrizzani may have just confirmed the report to be true.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported on Thursday that 25-year-old wide man Costa was a target for the Whites, as Marcelo Bielsa looks to bring in the quality of players worthy to build a second promotion chase.
Costa, a £13million signing for Wolves back in the summer of 2016, has scored 15 goals and laid on 14 assists in 71 Championship matches. He played 25 times in the Premier League last season.
Though Leeds are said to have been priced out of a permanent move, they are keen to sign him on loan. Now, owner Radrizzani may have dropped a hint that Leeds are indeed keen, by liking a Tweet about Leeds’ interest in Costa.
Costa – who earns £32,500 a week at Wolves (Spotrac) would be one of Radrizzani’s best signings since he took over at the club. It is as simple as that.
With Jack Harrison being quoted at a whopping £20million and Jack Clarke continually being linked with Tottenham Hotspur, new wingers are required and Costa fits the bill.
Radrizzani’s social media activity somewhat suggests, or at least hints, that Leeds are interested in the Portugal international which will send Leeds fans into a stir – given the quality of Costa.
