Andrea Berta suffers transfer blow, Arsenal might struggle to offload ‘explosive’ star

After signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, Arsenal now need to offload several players before the transfer deadline.

In Arsenal’s opening two Premier League games, Mikel Arteta has already been forced to leave some talented players out of his squad.

Ahead of his exit, Jakub Kiwior wasn’t on the bench against Manchester United for example.

And when you consider that Kiwior thrived against Kylian Mbappe in a Champions League quarter-final last season, Arsenal’s squad has changed pretty significantly.

Along with Kiwior, Arsenal are looking to ideally sell or even loan out several players before deadline day, and perhaps that will lead to one or more arrival – Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie wants to join the Gunners.

Arsenal could struggle to offload Reiss Nelson as Fulham begin to look elsewhere

Having not featured in either Premier League squad for Arsenal, Reiss Nelson is currently on Andrea Berta’s ‘to depart’ list.

Nelson was on loan at Fulham last season, a spell at Craven Cottage which was unfortunately disrupted by injury.

However, the winger did enough to impress, and it’s been reported that Fulham want to re-sign Nelson again on loan.

In fact, Alex Iwobi has spoken about Nelson re-joining Fulham, he wants the ‘explosive’ winger to return to west London.

However, journalist Fabrizio Romano has just shared an update on X which suggests that Fulham might not come back in for Nelson.

According to Romano, Fulham are ‘advancing’ in talks to sign Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk and Samu Chukwueze from AC Milan.

Both are wingers, and should the exciting duo arrive, there surely wouldn’t be enough space for Nelson to join on loan too.

Fortunately for Arsenal, Crystal Palace are now interested in a deal for Nelson, but it remains to be seen if a deal can be reached.

Andrea Berta is letting Jakub Kiwior leave too cheaply

As mentioned, Kiwior is set to leave Arsenal in the coming days, he’s on the verge of sealing a loan to FC Porto, with an obligation to buy.

TBR Football shared earlier in the summer that Kiwior wanted to leave Arsenal, and the defender will now get his chance to pursue first-team football.

It’s believed that Arsenal will agree to sell Kiwior for close to the £26m mark to Porto next summer.

And given that Arsenal paid a similar fee to bring the defender to the Emirates, it’s simply not enough.

The Poland international has developed as a player and enhanced his reputation massively at Arsenal – Arteta has praised Kiwior to no end.

And when selling such an accomplished player who is still only 25-years-old, Arsenal should be recouping more.

Berta has done outstandingly well for Arsenal in the transfer market this summer, but the club are still struggling to recoup value for those who depart.
