By this point of the transfer window, the majority of Arsenal’s spending is already mapped out.
Arsenal’s most significant signing thus far is the arrival of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, a deal that’s almost been understated given the club’s busy activity.
Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard have also joined to improve squad depth, and the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea and Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia will both fit a similar brief.
Of course, Arsenal are set to recruit Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP as well, a signing that should rival Zubimendi in importance — it’s all going very well for Andrea Berta.
But perhaps before Arsenal chase a deal for Eberechi Eze, there might have to be some balancing of the books.
Arsenal willing to accept significant loss to sell Fabio Vieira to Parma
To that end, TBR Football recently shared that Arsenal were preparing to sell several first-team players, including Fabio Vieira.
Vieira spent last season back on loan at his boyhood club FC Porto, and upon his return to north London, there are seemingly no plans to reintegrate the 25-year-old back into Mikel Arteta’s plans.

As a result, The Times are now reporting that Arsenal are willing to sell Vieira for £20m this summer.
According to the same report, Arsenal paid £30m to recruit the attacking midfielder in 2022, meaning the Gunners will lose around £10m overall.
Incidentally, Italian side Parma have already asked about signing Vieira this summer, who are now led by former Arsenal coach Carlos Cuestra.
Cuestra will know all about Vieira’s skill-set from his time at the Emirates, and the midfielder will also be aware of his former coach’s attributes too.
And on that basis, Vieira is keen to work with Cuestra at Parma if a deal can be agreed.
Mikel Arteta thought Fabio Vieira could be special for Arsenal
When Arteta and Edu Gaspar first signed Vieira in 2022, it seemed as if the pair were convinced they had just made a game-changing addition.
Both called Vieira a ‘special’ talent in their welcoming interviews, and it seemed as if Arsenal had found their new creator-in-chief.
Speaking about Vieira immediately after signing, Arteta said: “I am very excited that we have identified and signed such a special talent.
“Fabio is a very creative player that will bring high quality and versatility to our attacking play.
“We welcome Fabio and his family to our club and are looking forward to starting work with him ahead of the new season.”
Of course, things haven’t quite worked out as expected for the Portugal international at the Emirates.
Vieira impressed on loan for FC Porto at times, but it seems as if the ship has already sailed for the Portuguese number 10 at Arsenal.
Arsenal set to give Ethan Nwaneri a new contract, and perhaps the youngster’s emergence is part of the reason Vieira is no longer needed.
