Tottenham squeezed past Brighton last night and moved into second in the Premier League table with a 2-1 win.
Once again it was Harry Kane who got on the scoresheet, while Gareth Bale got himself among the goals with a late winning header against the Seagulls.
It goes without saying, then, that things are looking up for Mourinho’s Spurs. A number of fine summer signings seem to have taken them to the next level and silverware and the top four looks a real possibility this season.

But, the sticking point for Tottenham could be what happens in January. If things are going well, then will we see Daniel Levy move to back Mourinho again? Or will he expect Spurs to deliver anyway as is.
It remains to be seen, but one of the players Tottenham could rekindle interest in is Torino striker, Andrea Belotti.
The Italian was linked with a move to north London in the summer, with Di Marzio claiming Spurs explored a deal worth over £40m for the 29-cap ace over the summer months.
Jury out on Vinicius still
Even though he’s not really been given much of a chance, the jury is still out when it comes to new loan signing, Carlos Vinicius.
Quite tellingly, Mourinho chose to leave the striker out of the squad last night. It was an odd call from the Spurs boss, who clarified he has just decided to leave him out of the squad for the clash with Brighton and no injury was involved.

Whether that’s a sign Spurs haven’t been too impressed remains to be seen but there is definitely still an opening for a striker in the ranks.
Belotti, then, could be that man. He’s already notched six times this season in just five games. But importantly from a Spurs standpoint, Torino still sit second bottom, meaning this is a striker who is scoring goals in a struggling outfit.
Could it be, then, that the door may be ajar for Spurs to move in January for Belotti? If Torino’s form continues and Belotti follows suit, the Italian might well want out.
Tottenham need someone to take the pressure off Harry Kane. And if it’s not going to be Vinicius, maybe Belotti could be the man?
