Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana as their eventual replacement for current club captain Hugo Lloris. The Sun is reporting that Tottenham are considering a £35 million swoop for the Cameroon international in January.
The French goalkeeper is currently out with a dislocated shoulder and despite good performances from back-up Paulo Gazzaniga, Tottenham are now eyeing up the Ajax stopper.
Tottenham have been keeping track of the player for some time. As reported by Voetbal International, nearly one year ago, Tottenham have been keeping tabs on the player as the potential Lloris replacement.

However, Onana was certainly not a fan of Tottenham back in May. Onana was in the Ajax team which lost to Spurs in the Champions League semi-final last season in remarkable fashion.
Onana took to Twitter after the game to suggest he was ‘heartbroken’ at the result.
It appears that Tottenham have had Onana on their radar as a potential replacement for Lloris for some time.
Rightly so as well. The 23-year-old has proved himself a top modern goalkeeper for Ajax in recent years, especially in the Champions League.
Tottenham will undoubtedly be hoping he can become the long-term replacement for Lloris. That’s as long as he has gotten over his heartbreak.
