Andre Green can help Aston Villa fans forget all about Robert Snodgrass

When West Ham defeated Aston Villa last week it was a bitter defeat for the Villans. Steve Bruce’s side lost 3-1, with a fan favourite of theirs on the scoresheet for the Hammers.

Robert Snodgrass bagged West Ham’s third goal of the game leaving the Villa support devastated that the Scotland star is unlikely to be at Villa Park next season.

However, Villa’s scorer on the day might just be the perfect antidote to any Snodgrass blues.

Since that game, Aston Villa have headed to Germany where they took on Dynamo Dresden. The Championship side won 2-1 with both of their goals scored by Green.

The 20-year-old only played five games in the Championship last season, scoring the one goal. His last appearance came in September before a hamstring injury initially sidelined him until January. After that, with Snodgrass and co ahead of him in the pecking order, Green went under the radar.

But he has clearly got himself fighting fit this summer and ready for the challenge of playing regular football.

If Green can show his ability next season then Aston Villa fans will soon be forgetting all about Snodgrass.
