Andre Gomes has urged Everton to re-sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma this summer, after the pair played together on loan at Goodison Park last season.
Both players were huge success stories at the Toffees during the last campaign and made huge impacts on the team on loan.
Midfielder Gomes has now made a permanent switch to Merseyside from Barcelona, while enforcer Zouma has returned to his parent club Chelsea.
According to the Telegraph in June, Everton opened talks with Chelsea about the 24-year-old and manager Marco Silva is keen to sign him permanently.
It is understood that the France international will not come cheap, with the Times previously reporting he would cost £30million.
Gomes has made it clear he would be keen on a reunion with Zouma and has raved about the talented ace.
“Kurt played really, really well last season. He’s a fantastic guy, fantastic player,” Gomes said, as quoted by the club’s official Youtube account.
“Obviously if Everton want him I would say to buy him also because he’s really good. I would like to have him here, but it’s personal and maybe you have to discuss with Marcel [Brands].”
Zouma made a big impression in Silva’s squad last season and Everton should be all over a deal if he becomes available at £30million this summer.
The centre-back is a powerhouse that offers a real presence in the back with his strength and power, while he’s got an excellent turn of pace too.
He’s the type of addition that would cement belief that Everton can push for a European spot in the new season and he’s proven his quality.
Chelsea’s looming transfer ban is the only potential obstacle in the way and the Toffees need to hope they can strike a deal.
