Liverpool fans would be forgiven for forgetting about Colombian defender Anderson Arroyo.
The Reds signed the Colombian youngster from Fortaleza C.E.I.F in February 2018 for an undisclosed fee and was immediately loaned out to Spanish side Mallorca.
It came after he had impressed for the Colombian under-20 side and Liverpool were quick to move for the talented full-back.
That 18-month deal was cut short in the summer of 2018 when Arroyo was loaned out to Gent in Belgium. He failed to play a single game for the club and has struggled with a broken foot since arriving at Anfield.

This season, he was loaned out to Czech side Mlada Boleslav but his only appearances with the side have been with their B team, his last competitive game being a 7-0 win against Sokol Brozany in November.
But he was the bench for the final first-team game for Boleslav before the league was suspended because of the global health crisis.
However, he is of the belief that he will soon be making his first-team bow for Liverpool. As he told AS Colombia this week many at Melwood ‘believe’ in his talents and that he will continue to work hard for a first-team shot. But the left-back also admitted he does not know what will happen once his current loan move comes to an end.
“Setting a date would be telling lies, but I don’t think it’s that far if I keep doing things well, I sacrifice myself and give myself more. When they give me the opportunity to be with them again, I will continue to give everything and I’ll do things well. many people in Liverpool who believe in me and if they do, I think I can do it. I see it very close.
“The truth is nobody has told me anything. My contract (at Boleslav) ends in the middle of the year, the tournament is going to be extended a little and I would have to leave.”
Whilst Arroyo’s ambition cannot be faulted, he will undoubtedly need to impress more on any further loan deals before Liverpool consider him ready for first-team football.
On top of that, there is the issue of a UK Work Permit, which appears to be the reason for his immediate loan spells away from Liverpool.
Hopefully, the left-back can indeed grow into a Liverpool first-team option to act as back-up to Andrew Robertson.
But for the time being, it would appear further away than the youngster may realise.
