Ancelotti has had conversation with Liverpool target Bellingham - journalist

Journalist Ben Jacobs has told The Football Terrace that Carlo Ancelotti has now had a direct conversation with Jude Bellingham as Real Madrid look to beat Liverpool to his signature.

Bellingham’s future looks set to be a huge talking point ahead of next summer. The 19-year-old has been in sensational form for club and country of late. Unsurprisingly, it appears that a number of clubs want the Borussia Dortmund star.

Certainly, whichever club manages to sign Bellingham will be landing an absolute superstar.

Ancelotti has had conversation with Bellingham

Jacobs reported that Liverpool are the current favourites for his signature amongst the raft of clubs who want to bring him to the Premier League. But Real Madrid are also optimistic about winning the race.

In fact, Jacobs suggested that Los Blancos are doing a lot of work behind the scenes to try and convince Bellingham to move to the Bernabeu, with Ancelotti also getting involved in their push to sign the teenager.

“They think they have done the leg work,” he told The Football Terrace.

“I can tell you that Ancelotti has had a direct conversation with the player and they are constantly over watching him and developing relationships because signing a player of Jude Bellingham’s quality is about all kinds of things, including making the player feel welcome away from football, showing him where he’s going to live, telling him about perks away from playing, introducing him to other people who are his age.”

Liverpool form may not be a concern amid Bellingham interest

Jacobs notes that Liverpool, like Real, are amazing at putting in the work that helps convince potential targets to join the club. So you would imagine that they would have been doing many similar things to try and influence Bellingham’s decision.

Perhaps their form in the Premier League will be something of a worry. Right now, Jurgen Klopp’s side are struggling and languish in mid-table.

But given the quality Liverpool have, they will turn around their fortunes at some stage.

In the year after winning the title, the Reds barely managed to make the top four. Few will forget how important Alisson’s winning goal at West Brom seemed to be.

However, they bounced back from that by nearly going on and winning four trophies last year. So there is no reason why they cannot turn their fortunes around again in the near future.

Certainly, landing Bellingham ahead of Real Madrid will give them a huge lift heading into next season.
