According to recent transfer rumour in The Mirror, Premier League title hopefuls Manchester City have emerged among Europe’s best as one of the favourites to sign underperforming Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard – with reports suggesting Manuel Pellegrini’s side are weighing up a bid worth as much as £80million.

Following a season in which he won numerous individual accolades, including recognition as PFA Player of the Year, the Belgian international has largely struggled for form this season. With his side languishing at the wrong end of the top flight table, he is yet to find the back of the net this term, despite scoring 19 league goals the campaign previously.

It is suggested that Real Madrid are Hazard’s number one suitors, with new boss Zinedine Zidane a known admirer and Cristiano Ronaldo edging closer to the Bernabeu exit door. However, the Belgian contingent at the Etihad – Vincent Kopmany and Kevin de Bruyne – could prove enough to convince the 25-year-old to make the move north.

Amid ongoing speculation the lads over at Manchester City fan channel, BlueMoonRising, have been quick to have their say. Would The Citizens be interested in the services of the struggling Belgian midfielder, and perhaps more importantly, would Chelsea be willing to sell him?
