For some players, scoring a hat-trick can be a once in a career event. For Harry Kane, he recorded his third in nine Premier League games against Stoke City.
The Tottenham striker took just 23 minutes to open the scoring and get his name on the scoreboard. The England international pounced when a last-gasp challenge saw the ball bounce in the box, with Kane on hand to rifle home straight into the bottom corner past a helpless Lee Grant.
His second was similarly stabbed home from the edge of the box, with all of Kane’s power on show as he once again showed his instincts as a corner was cleared to the 23-year-old for him to net his second of the game and give Spurs a clear advantage in the game which would be hard for any side, let alone Stoke, to overturn.
Then, Kane saved his best until last, with eight minutes until half-time, Christian Eriksen stepped aside to allow Kane to take the glory from a free-kick from 25 yards out as he sent a bullet of a shot past the Stoke wall and Grant in goal yet again to seal his hat-trick and take his tally for the season to 22 goals.
He didn’t stop there, though, as he battled hard to rob the ball back as Stoke dithered, before setting off down the pitch to then cut back to Dele Alli to add a fourth goal before half-time.
A calm and easy second half for his team meant that Kane could relax and enjoy himself without any risk of overexertion as Tottenham eased to an east three points as they desperately seek to keep the pressure on Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.
