‘Amazing’: Tottenham fans praise Hugo Lloris for France display

Hugo Lloris captained France in their defeat to the Netherlands on Friday – and some of the Tottenham fans on Twitter raved about their player for his performance.

World Cup champions France were beaten 2-0 away to Netherlands in the Nations League, as Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay scored for the hosts.

But that didn’t paint the entire picture as Didier Deschamps’ side conceded a large amount of chances and were perhaps fortunate just to conceded two.

Goalkeeper Lloris stood firm for some big moments in the game, where he showed his shot-stopping ability to deny the Dutch.

The 31-year-old has been a consistent performer for his nation over the years and that reached its peak when he lifted the World Cup in the summer, but his team were slightly off the pace on Friday.

A selection of Spurs fans were blown away by Lloris’ efforts in goal and believe he can be a world class performer on the international stage.

He has come in for some criticism recently for some high-profile individual mistakes, but he perhaps silenced a few doubters with his contribution for France.
