Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips earned his fourth England cap last night as he started for Gareth Southgate’s charges in the UEFA Nations League loss to Denmark.

The 24-year-old was one of the better England players on the night as the Danes claimed a 1-0 victory at Wembley Stadium.

Harry Maguire was sent off for the Three Lions, with Christian Eriksen scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot soon after.

England rarely tested Kasper Schmeichel in the visitors’ goal and the Danes ultimately held on for victory in the capital.

Phillips was neat and tidy in possession and really stepped up when his side went down to ten men, working tirelessly to keep the opposition at bay.

Here is what some fans – Leeds and neutral – made of the £30,000-a-week man’s efforts on the night:

Marcelo Bielsa’s charges are back in Premier League action on Monday night, with Elland Road hosting Leeds and Wolves, while the following Friday, the Whites head to Aston Villa.
