Tottenham’s ‘dream’ summer signing has just held crunch talks with his club to decide his next move

Tottenham Hotspur have not exactly set this summer’s transfer market alight with the business they have done so far.

Ange Postecoglou will, however, be delighted Tottenham were able to secure the services of 18-year-old Archie Gray earlier this summer.

However, the deal for the young midfielder aside, Spurs have only retained Timo Werner on another loan deal and signed Yang Min-hyeok to arrive in January.

It has not exactly been the most inspiring of transfer windows in a summer where Tottenham are crying out for a new striker.

But there is one target of Tottenham’s whose future is really hanging in the balance having just met with his club to decide on his future.

Tottenham target has just held meeting to decide his future

When it’s said Tottenham are crying out to sign a new striker, Postecoglou made that very clear in a recent interview he did during their pre-season tour of South Korea.

Postecoglou admitted he wants to see Tottenham sign a new striker with that being the area of the pitch where they are at their thinnest.

“It’s still the area of the park we’re really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that’s a focus for us,” he said.

Although it may not solve their issues up top, Tottenham have now seen one of their midfield targets discuss his future with his current club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Conor Gallagher has just held crunch talks with Chelsea to decide on his future with the Blues.

Tottenham are long-term admirers of Gallagher with Postecoglou said to ‘dream’ of signing the England international.

But as it stands, Atletico Madrid lead the race to sign him despite Chelsea now offering him a new contract.

However, the whole situation feels at breaking point with Atletico wanting an answer this weekend otherwise they will pull out of the race.

Could Tottenham make a late charge for Gallagher

The expectation is that Tottenham were not looking to make a late challenge for Atletico Madrid’s bid for Gallagher.

However, it has to be said, if talks were to break down with the Chelsea midfielder and the Spanish club, that could really stir the pot.

Of course, it could just see Gallagher put pen to paper on the new contract which his boyhood club have offered him.

But as the situation becomes a little bit of a mess, it will be interesting to see whether Spurs could look to pounce to offer the midfielder a way out of Chelsea who have banished Gallagher from training.
