On what proved to be a very fruitful night for Manchester United against Chelsea, Patrice Evra was very impressed with one player.

Evra was speaking on Amazon Prime’s coverage of the game at half-time and was very complimentary of the performance overall.

The pundit thought that Erik ten Hag’s side were on the right trajectory – which did prove to be the case in a 2-1 win.

And Patrice Evra was particularly impressed with the industry that Alejandro Garnacho was showing.

Evra said that he was working tirelessly for the side – which is particularly pertinent with his work-rate recently being questioned.

Speaking at half-time, Evra said: “I can see Garnacho making some amazing runs to go and get the ball.

“This is United point of view, I have nothing negative to say about this half.”

Of course, Garnacho was playing on the left side of United’s front three, a place vacated by Marcus Rashford.

As well as enduring a bad run of form, Alan Shearer has also questioned the effort levels Rashford has been delivering.

And with a spot on the bench against Chelsea, perhaps his manager agreed.

Focusing on the positives, Garnacho does now seem to be hitting a curve of improvement.

Exposed to more first team starts, the Argentinian is now starting to take more responsibility.

And such has been the difficulties ten Hag’s side have faced of late, that will be very welcome.

Of course, when reviewing tonight’s performance, Scott McTominay also deserves a special mention.

The Scot is proving to be an incredible goal-threat, and it now seems well advised that he didn’t depart in the summer.

And although United do have players missing, they are still showing promising signs in moments of their performances.

Patrice Evra will surely now be very keen to see Garnacho enjoy an extended run in the United side following this Chelsea performance.

And although Rashford returning to form will be a priority, that idea does seem well advised.

That being said, Michail Antonio has now shared a theory regarding Rashford’s displays this season.
