‘Amazing’: Kulusevski shares what really blew his mind during his first day at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Dejan Kulusevski has waxed lyrical about his new teammates to the Spurs media team.

The Sweden international joined Tottenham late in the January transfer window alongside Rodrigo Bentancur.

Both players have hit the ground running at Spurs and are likely to have a big future at the club.

Bentancur has been sensational in midfield, proving an ideal partner for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Meanwhile, Kulusevski has turned the Tottenham frontline into the second most dangerous in the league.

The 21-year-old has already registered three goals and six assists for Spurs.

Kulusevski, who struggled for game time at Juventus, believes he was especially hungry to show people what he could do.

He admits everything had to click, but that’s exactly what has happened on and off the pitch, including a great rapport with his teammates.

“My teammates have been amazing,” said Kulusevski. “From the first day, I got a really warm welcome and, on the pitch, we have fun together – that’s very good.

“I also knew some of them from before. The most important thing is that we have fun away from the pitch and we are like a family and then, on the pitch, everything is easier.

“I really like my teammates here, both as people and as players.

“So, the first thing I said when we went on international duty last month is that I wanted all their shirts, and then it was my time to bring them my shirts. They then all put them on, it was just funny.”

Tottenham set to trigger Kulusevski transfer?

According to the Evening Standard, the loan deal to bring Kulusevski to Tottenham cost £8.3m.

This includes the option to make the move permanent this summer for a further £24.9m.

The outlet has claimed Spurs also have the option next summer. However, this does include some caveats.

Tottenham would have to pay Juventus a higher fee of £29.1m if they qualify for the Champions League at the end of next term and Kulusevski plays more than 50 percent of their matches.

That shouldn’t be an issue, however. The Evening Standard has claimed that the club has decided to trigger their option this summer.

As far as transfer decisions go, this is an absolute no-brainer and it’s hopefully true.
