‘Amazing: Jamie O’Hara excited by Tottenham links with 49-year-old manager

Jamie O’Hara has stated it would be “absolutely fantastic” to see Mauricio Pochettino back at Tottenham.

Spurs fans are still waiting patiently to hear who the long-term successor will be to Jose Mourinho as manager.

Pochettino, who left Spurs after being sacked in 2019, is one of several names being linked. The 49-year-old boss is currently in a job at French giants Paris Saint-Germain, with one year still left on his deal.

According to the Athletic, the north London club are actually in talks with Pochettino.

It is understood the Argentine would most likely have to resign to get out of his PSG deal, but a return to English football is something that appeals to him.

Sky Sports pundit and ex-Spurs midfielder O’Hara insists it would be great to see Pochettino make a remarkable comeback to take the reigns once again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“It will be amazing [if Pochettino returns]. I think he’s got unfinished business at the club. I think he left the club when he needed backing. There was a chance to really kick on again with a new squad of players, and he didn’t get backed. And Daniel Levy sacked him. But I still think he loves the club a lot. The fans still adore him and I think it wold be absolutely fantastic if you could entice him to come back,” O’Hara said.

Tottenham fans excited by Pochettino speculation

Despite the fact he never won silverware, Pochettino established himself as a true Spurs favourite for what he did during five-and-a-half years with them.

He built a side that went so close to winning trophies, and most importantly to fans, played attractive offensive football.

There is no doubt he’s an excellent man-manager. If he did return to Spurs, he’d already have such strong bonds with players.

However, there isn’t going to be a different outcome to last time if the squad isn’t reshuffled.
