A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to praise Toffees full-back Lucas Digne for his impressive display in the other famous blue shirt.
The 27-year-old was named in France’s starting XI for Wednesday’s friendly with Ukraine at the Stade de France.
Les Bleus ran out 7-1 winners in Paris, with Olivier Giroud – captain for the day – celebrating his 100th cap with a brace.

Eduardo Camavinga, meanwhile, became France’s youngest scorer in over a century at 17 years and 11 months, marking his first national start with a stunning overhead kick.
Corentin Tolisso, Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann also netted for the world champions, while Viktor Tsygankov grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors.
Digne wasn’t given too much of a test defensively, but he impressed in attack, providing a channel on the wing and whipping in several dangerous crosses for his forwards.
The £90,000-a-week ace’s efforts on the night earned plaudits from Everton fans:
France have a UEFA Nations League double header up next, up against Portugal and Croatia, while Everton’s next fixture is at Goodison Park against Merseyside rivals Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday 17 October.
