'Amazing deal if true': Spurs fans react as Paratici reportedly holds talks over £25k-a-week ace
Spurs fans have welcomed reports claiming the club is in talks with Pierluigi Gollini.
Tottenham‘s main goalkeepers, Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart, are only contracted to the club until 2022.
And Spurs appear to be seeking a player who can act as cover next season before potentially stepping up to first-choice.
Gianluca Di Marzio’s website claims Tottenham are in discussions with Atalanta over a potential loan-to-buy move.
The Serie A high-flyers recently signed Argentine goalkeeper Juan Musso from Udinese.
Therefore, it would appear that Atalanta may be willing – and prepared – to part company with Gollini.
The 26-year-old shared the gloves with Marco Sportiello last season, making 32 competitive appearances in all competitions.
And Spurs fans seem pleased that Fabio Paratici is apparently moving to bolster a position that will definitely need looking at in the long term.
That's actually an amazing deal if true— B (@getchoboydawg) July 16, 2021
That would be a good deal, makes sure we have a plan in place for when our skipper goes— Hec🧸 (@Hector_9571) July 16, 2021
Good preparation by Paratici— BoltDest (@BoltDest) July 16, 2021
so hes basically going to stay here as a no2 till lloris leaves then takes over if hes good enough and we wont pay anything now— Eren (@THFCEren) July 16, 2021
I have seen people say that he'd count as home grown, if that's true, that makes it a deal clincher.— VSLP (@schmicklson) July 16, 2021
Need to start succession planning for hugo soon as sad as that is 😔— Jace (@JaceTucker1) July 16, 2021
That is a solid bit of business that, He is homegrown and would likely replace Lloris after the loan— FLASH (@D1V1D3DxFLASH1) July 16, 2021
It'll be a 1 year loan (with option for a second year) and also an option to buy, brilliant deal if it gets done imo— COYS (@Kian66959476) July 16, 2021
The 6ft 4in stopper’s senior breakthrough came for Hellas Verona, who he joined from the Red Devils in 2014.
Gollini then moved to Villa in 2016 but struggled at B6 and went out on loan to Atalanta the following year.
He shone for the Bergamo outfit and promptly joined permanently in 2018, making 112 competitive appearances to date.
Gollini is contracted to the club until the summer of 2023, reportedly on £25,000-per-week (Salary Sport).
