Harry Redknapp says Tottenham have signed an absolute ‘Rolls-Royce’ for Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham cruised to an impressive win at Manchester United yesterday as they produced a fine performance to put Erik ten Hag under yet more pressure.

Goals from Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke ensured a comfortable day at the office for Ange Postecoglou and his team.

Indeed, on another day it could have been even more as a number of Tottenham players performed at somewhere near their best.

Of course, one of those players to really shine was defender, Micky van de Ven.

The Dutch defender set up the opening goal with a stunning run forward and after Van de Ven was lauded by Phil Jones for his efforts, Harry Redknapp has now praised him as well.

Harry Redknapp says what shocks him about Micky van de Ven

Speaking on TalkSPORT about the performances of some of the Tottenham players at Old Trafford, Redknapp had some high praise for Dutch defender Van de Ven.

“He looks a great signing. What amazes me is during the Euros this year, he couldn’t get into the Dutch team. I was shocked,” Redknapp said.

“Hang on, how are they that good that he can’t get into the team? Surely they will find a place for him somewhere, if you played three at the back, you could play him at left-back even. There will be space for him somewhere in the Dutch team. He looks a Rolls-Royce, proper player.”

Van de Ven is better than Romero at Tottenham

The defensive duo compliment each other very well but right now, you’d have to say that Tottenham would miss Van de Ven more than Romero right now.

The way Van de Ven drives out with the ball from the back and then has the presence of mind in the final third to deliver, is quite brilliant.

He’s giving Ange Postecoglou an extra weapon at the moment and if it can be harnessed, then Spurs have a great chance this season.

Right now, Van de Ven is arguably the most important player at Tottenham.
