Amad Diallo has identified a ‘magician’ in the Manchester United squad after they emerged victorious against West Ham in pre-season.
Manchester United kick off their tour of America with a win, mainly thanks to the brilliance of Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese Magnifico scored twice as United emerged 2-1 victors, with his second an absolute beauty for the Red Devils.

But although Fernandes stole the headlines, it’s another midfielder who Amad Diallo thinks produced a bit of magic in the fixture.
Amad Diallo calls Manuel Ugarte a ‘magician’
Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte was lauded by the Ivorian on Instagram. This came after a moment of magic to set up Amad’s strike, which was unfortunately disallowed for Manchester United.

The 24-year-old managed successive nutmegs as he weaved through the Hammers’ defence and neatly slotted in Amad, who finished with aplomb, only to see the offside flag raised.
It was a moment of brilliance that was duly noted by many, and a sign of positivity from Ugarte, given the somewhat lacklustre first campaign he spent with the Red Devils.
His manager, Ruben Amorim, knows his capabilities, from the time they spent together at Sporting Lisbon, and now maybe they can really kick on together, this time at Old Trafford.
Ugarte reflects on Ruben Amorim’s influence
After the fixture, Manuel spoke to MUTV and explained exactly what Ruben Amorim is demanding of him, which is elevating his game.
“[Ruben] always says about the communication,” revealed the midfielder.

“Speak to everyone and work as a team and try to recover the ball as soon as possible. I think tonight, not only me, the team played really well.”
Amorim also spoke about Ugarte and praised his performance.
“The first thing is adaptation to a new team, a new country,” he said. “Sometimes, you just look inside of the pitch but, off the pitch, you can have some trouble sometimes.
“He is more adapted and then he needs more confidence, it’s also my job. If you look last year, take Bruno [Fernandes], who is always confident and look at the team, and the performance of the team if he doesn’t perform well. We can see today, when they are confident in their play, it seems like everyone can touch the ball and have confidence. It is more a team thing than individual.”
Positive signs at Manchester United. Although pre-season is no determiner, Manchester United may not need a midfielder after all if Ugarte continues his form.
