Nottingham Forest are closing in on the signing of Morgan Gibbs-White, according to Fabrizio Romano.
On Thursday afternoon, multiple outlets reported that the Reds had struck a deal for the Wolves midfielder.
Romano has taken to Twitter to claim that documents are “almost ready” between Forest and Wolves to complete the deal.
The City Ground outfit would be paying £35m including “easy add-ons”, he said.
In additions, there would also be “more variables depending on player/team performances”, added Romano.
The Guardian has provided a thorough breakdown of the finances involved in the Gibbs-White deal.
Apparently, Forest will pay an initial £25m for Gibbs-White, plus about £10m in add-ons dependent on league appearances and if Forest avoid relegation.
On top of that £35m package, Forest would have to pay further add-ons if they were to record a top-half finish or qualify for Europe.
Wolves have apparently also inserted a 15 percent sell-on clause in the deal.
Gibbs-White will become Forest’s 16th signing of the summer in wake of the club’s return to the top flight.
The 22-year-old worked under Forest manager Steve Cooper at England youth level and during a loan spell at Swansea City.

Everton reportedly wanted Gibbs-White too.
However, the chance to link up with Cooper once again has proven a major factor in his decision to move to the City Ground.
Gibbs-White has played the full 90 minutes in Wolves’ opening two Premier League games, against Leeds United and Fulham.
The Englishman spent last season on loan at Sheffield United.
He registered 12 goals and 10 assists as the Blades reached the play-offs in the Championship before losing to Forest.
