'World-class', 'Not used properly': Some Newcastle fans react to 'underrated' ace's Copa America display

Some Newcastle fans were reacting after Miguel Almiron produced a man-of-the-match performance in Paraguay’s win over Chile at the Copa America.

The South American scored one and produced another as he led his country to victory and quarter-final progression.

It was Paraguay’s second win from their three group games at the Copa America.

The Geordies attacker whipped in a wicked corner for Braian Samudio to head home in the 33rd minute. And just 13 minutes into the second-half Carlos González was fouled with Almiron stepping up to slot home the penalty.

Paraguay take on Uruguay in their final group game next Tuesday at Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro.

Almiron has seemingly turned on the style for Paraguay at this summer’s Copa America, but, where is this for Newcastle?

After his starring role for Atalanta in Major League Soccer, Steve Bruce’s side would’ve expected much more from the attacker.
