Ally McCoist says Leeds have a player that has been 'phenomenal' over last 18 months, during Palace win

Ally McCoist branded Stuart Dallas as “phenomenal” over the last 18 months during co-commentary of Leeds United’s win over Crystal Palace.

Leeds secured just their third win of the Premier League season with a late win over the Eagles. Marc Guehi conceded a penalty in injury time.

Raphinha’s corner was handled by the defender, VAR deeming his arm to be in an unnatural position. Raphinha stepped up, and coolly slotted the ball.

It has been a difficult time for Leeds and their fans, with a huge number of injuries forcing the Whites to be patient for points during the 21-22 season.

But they secured a much-needed win against Palace and McCoist was full of praise during commentary on Amazon Prime – of Dallas.

“It’s early in the game, I know. But Dallas has been phenomenal at times over the last 18 months. What a player he’s been,” McCoist said.

McCoist on Dallas: Leeds star has been below par this season

But his performance from the right side of the defence against Crystal Palace was excellent – especially as he came up against Wilfried Zaha.

Like Leeds, Dallas has struggled to produce the kind of form that saw him score a brace against Manchester City last term. He has been filling in.

Right-back and left-back, mostly, due to injuries suffered by Junior Firpo and Luke Ayling. But he was superb on Tuesday night at Elland Road.

A brilliant performance, a brilliant win for Leeds and with Patrick Bamford and Ayling close to a return – Leeds fans can be optimistic again.
