Ally McCoist has suggested that Manchester United’s players are letting down club captain Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese international has again been the star of the show for the Red Devils in what has been a season to forget for Erik Ten Hag’s side.
The 29-year-old has managed six goals and five assists in all competitions for United, with the Manchester giants already out of Europe and currently sitting eighth in the Premier League standings.

And speaking on TalkSport, McCoist has suggested that Fernandes is being let down by his United teammates, with the pundit also claiming that the attacking midfielder has been their best player this season.
McCoist said: “He’s probably been their best player, which you’ve got to take into account given United haven’t been good. I think he would be a top player at a top team.
“I think he’s being dragged down a little bit, his surroundings and everything that’s going on has maybe brought him down a little bit. I think he would be the last one in the United team I’d point a finger out.”
Manchester United need to rise up to Bruno Fernandes’ level

Fernandes has easily been United’s best player ever since the Portuguese international joined the Red Devils almost four years ago.
And the 29-year-old simply needs the support and the quality around him if United are to ever return to their former best, with Fernandes currently a one-man show in the attack.
Whilst the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho are fantastic prospects in the making, United need quality for the here and now for Fernandes.
And Ten Hag must be looking to offer that in the summer, with United in desperate need of giving their star player the service and quality needed to excel in the Premier League.
