Ally McCoist has told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast show on TalkSPORT (Thursday, 09:55) that he reckons Rangers are more than capable of achieving three points against Feyenoord on Thursday night – but is not so sure for Celtic.
Rangers play host to Dutch side Feyenoord at Ibrox in their first Group G clash, which also sees them rival Swiss outfit Young Boys and Portuguese giants FC Porto for a place in the last 32 of the competition.
Meanwhile, Celtic have it all to do as they travel to French side Stade Rennais who have started the 2019-20 campaign in sparkling form – beating Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 and sitting in second place in Ligue 1.
Rangers legend McCoist reckons his old side are more than capable of beating Feyenoord on Thursday night at Ibrox, with home advantage, but reckons Celtic would be delighted to take a point in France against Rennes.

TBR’s view – Rangers bias aside, McCoist is speaking sense
If Rangers are to stand any chance of finishing in the top two – most likely alongside Porto – they have got to pick up wins against Young Boys and Feyenoord at home. It is something they are more than capable of doing.
Feyenoord have struggled in the league, winning just two of five league games and scoring only six goals in the process. Meanwhile, Rennes are on fire and a point for Celtic would be an excellent result for the Scottish champions.
