Ally McCoist picked out Leeds United’s Stuart Dallas for huge praise after his performance at the weekend.
The Whites beat Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United 2-1 on Saturday in a Premier League fixture at Elland Road.
Ben Osborn’s goal on the stroke of half time initially cancelled out Jack Harrison’s opener. But Leeds regained the lead, as well as three points, when Phil Jagielka netted an unfortunate own goal for the visitors.
McCoist, who named Dallas as his man of the match on commentary, felt he was the standout player on the pitch.
The versatile Northern Irishman slotted in as a central midfielder during the contest for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, and was relentless with his energy.
“I think Dallas epitomised Leeds United today. He was good on the ball. Solid, reliable. I thought his performance was outstanding,” McCoist told Amazon Prime Sport (5:10pm, 3 April).

TBR’s View:
Dallas may be kicking himself he didn’t score after a couple of goalscoring opportunities against Sheffield United, but he pretty much did everything else during the match.
He’s been superb when asked to play full-back for large parts of this campaign, and the way he can fit into most positions seamlessly is remarkably.
It was one thing doing it in the Championship, but he’s capable of doing the same thing on the Premier League stage.
Dallas remains one of the most underrated players in the top-flight division.
