Ally McCoist has told TalkSPORT on Tuesday morning that he does not expect the appointment of Antonio Conte to change much at Tottenham.
Spurs are closing in on a move to hire Italian gaffer Conte, who has been out of work since leaving Inter Milan – just days after winning the Scudetto.
He had been in talks with Spurs in the summer, only for Conte to reject a move. The North London club eventually hired Nuno Espirito Santo.
Spurs are in disarray. They lack any kind of identity, there are numerous players out of form, and more worryingly, they are not putting in the effort.
Discussing reports that Conte is expected to be appointed as Tottenham gaffer on Tuesday, McCoist gave a pretty pessimistic prediction.
While he expects a small upturn in fortunes under the guidance of Conte, McCoist does not believe a big change is incoming.

“I’ve got to be honest, that whole place has to be absolutely transformed,” McCoist told TalkSPORT. “It needs a complete shake from top to bottom.
“Conte might, but he’ll need money. But I don’t see a massive improvement – but I don’t see them challenging Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester City.”

Bringing in Conte, though, is a massive coup. Right now, Spurs have a couple of correct ingredients, but plenty of wrong ones.
Adding Conte connects a lot of those iffy ingredients. He worked at Juventus with Paratici and the duo got on well, with Conte lasting three years.
McCoist is right. The appointment of Conte and the renewed relationship with Paratici will not change the fortunes immediately.
Players need to go – some that have lost their hunger at Spurs. Dele Alli, Steven Bergwijn, even Harry Kane. Conte will carry no passengers.
