Ally McCoist has told BT Sport (Friday, 10.25pm) that he believes Alfredo Morelos is a shadow of the Rangers striker that scored 29 goals last season – and reckons the Colombian should be dropped for Sunday’s clash againsy Livingston.
Morelos, 24, has had a hand in nine goals during his 13 appearances this season – scoring five and creating four. But he has failed to score inMc more than a month, his last strike coming in the 2-2 draw against Hibernian on September 20.
He missed a big chance against Standard Liege on Thursday night in Belgium, as Rangers secured a 2-0 win despite monsoon-like conditions. James Tavernier scored a penalty, while Kemar Roofe scored a belter from inside his own half.
Rangers legend McCoist was asked about Morelos’ questionable form, which is far from his best – which he showed during the first half of the 2019-20 season. McCoist believes Morelos should be replaced on Sunday against Livingston.
