Leeds United suffered a crushing 4-1 defeat away to Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, which means they have lost three of their last four Premier League games heading into the November international break.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were second best in the end at Selhurst Park as they suffered a heavy loss, albeit there was a controversial moment when Patrick Bamford saw his goal disallowed for offside when he thought he had equalised.
The striker’s arm was deemed to be in an offside when making his run in behind and it was a moment that massively frustrated the Leeds fanbase.
In-form centre-forward Bamford did get on the scoresheet to keep his individual form up, but Sky pundit Ally McCoist singled out his teammate Raphinha as a positive from the contest.
The 23-year-old attacker was introduced as a half-time substitute by manager Bielsa and he tried to inject something extra in the final third.
He is a left-footed star that cuts in from the right wing and he showed off some strong passes against Palace, as well as going close with a free-kick from distance.
“Raphinha came on for Costa and looked lively in the second-half. They [Leeds] have got players that can certainly create things and threaten you,” McCoist told Sky Sports’ News channel [5:17pm, 7 November).

TBR’s View:
Raphinha showed with his cameo appearance at the weekend that he can give Leeds a boost with his directness and skill, as he’s not afraid to take on defenders and is always looking ahead.
The Brazilian speedster has had to be patient since his move to Elland Road from Rennes and is yet to start for the Yorkshire club, but it doesn’t look like long before he’ll be putting serious pressure on wide men Jack Harrison and Helder Costa.
Leeds may find the international break is coming at a good time for them now and they need to quickly dust themselves down as they have some tough fixtures coming.
