Allan Saint-Maximin posts on Twitter after joining Newcastle

Allan Saint-Maximin admitted on Twitter he can’t wait to get started following his move to Newcastle United.

The Magpies confirmed on Friday that the attacker has joined from French club Nice on a permanent basis.

According to Sky Sports, Newcastle will pay £16.5million upfront for the winger and that could possibly rise to £20million.

The 22-year-old has built up his reputation in his homeland France and is a versatile attacker that can play in central or wide areas.

He played 36 times across all competitions last season for Nice, scoring six goals and supplying five assists in return.

The Frenchman has tremendous pace and trickery, something that could see him be a hit at St James’ Park and inject some more quality to the final third.

Saint-Maximin engaged on social media once his move to Newcastle was confirmed and is looking forward to his first taste of the Premier League

‘So proud to be a part of the Toon Army. I’m too excited man,” Saint-Maximin wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:

Saint-Maximin is another exciting addition to the Newcastle squad and he’s got the potential to dazzle in the North-East.

The skilful wide player could potentially help form a lethal front trio next to Miguel Almiron and striker Joelinton if manager Steve Bruce wants to go down that path.

He is going to have to make the adjustment from Ligue 1 to the Premier League, which has been done with mixed success in the past.

But Saint-Maximin is still an upcoming talent aged just 22 and he should be given a licence to attack freely.
