Allan McGregor, Greg Docherty and others react as Greg Stewart finds new club - following Rangers release

Greg Stewart has found a new club after leaving Rangers on a free transfer – prompting reaction from the likes of Allan McGregor and Greg Docherty.

Stewart, 31, left Rangers earlier this summer after two years at Ibrox. The Scot only managed 33 appearances in that time at Rangers.

He did score three goals and lay on seven assists, but it was not enough for Steven Gerrard – who chose to let him go. He has now found a new club.

Perhaps a surprise step, moving to Indian football. Stewart links up with Scottish boss Owen Coyle at Jamshedpur – alongside Peter Hartley.

It finally sees the versatile attacker sign for a new club after a couple of months without a home. He posted on Instagram after penning a deal.

Stewart moves to India: Rangers ace McGregor and others react

It is a growingly popular move for players that had been playing in Scottish football. As said, Hartley and Coyle will be joined by Stewart at Jamshedpur.

Stewart will also come up against ex-Motherwell defender Carl McHugh, who is one of a number of foreign players at ATK Mohun Bagan.

SC East Bengal also boast Scotland international Danny Fox. So, while Stewart’s move is a surprising one, it is hardly the first of it’s kind.

Having posted on Instagram, Stewart received replies from the likes of Greg Docherty and Jordan Jones. McGregor chose to tease him, over his hair.

In other Rangers news, fans have had their say on Steven Gerrard’s usage of John Lundstram over the weekend.
