'All of a sudden': Jamie O'Hara thinks £22m Tottenham player might well be in danger of getting dropped soon

Jamie O’Hara has told Sky Sports News that Tottenham Hotspur winger Heung-Min Son might well be in danger of getting dropped soon.

Son has got off to a slow start to the new season by his standards as he is yet to find the back of the net for Spurs.

The 30-year-old has been a key player in North London ever since making the switch from Bayer Leverkusen for £22 million (The Guardian).

The South Korean picked up the Golden Boot award last season and is an integral part of Antonio Conte’s side.

But O’Hara feels the Italian should drop Son for Richarlison in Tottenham’s next game.

O’Hara thinks Son might be dropped

The former Spurs midfielder spoke on Sky Sports News yesterday and praised the ‘brilliant’ Richarlison for his display against Fulham on Saturday.

And O’Hara says Son should be the player who makes way if Richarlison is handed another start by Conte.

“It might be Son [who should be dropped for Richarlison],” he said.

“I feel for Son a little bit because Son actually played ok yesterday, he played well and he had some chances.

“But it’s just not dropping for him, the chances are just not quite there and you can see he’s hungry and he’s trying to make it work.

“But sometimes when you’ve been a top-scorer, then the next season you’re expected to be top-scorer again and all of a sudden you have three or four games where it doesn’t happen, you start snatching at things.”

O’Hara went on to say that he would like to see Conte switch to a four-man defence to accommodate all four of Spurs’ attacking players, including Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski

But the pundit admitted Conte is unlikely to change his trusted system anytime soon.

Richarlison was handed his first start on Saturday against Fulham and put in another impressive display.

The Brazilian grabbed an assist but was very unlucky to not have scored after having a goal ruled out by VAR and seeing an effort come back off the post.

The former Everton man is certainly pushing for a regular starting place and Kulusevski was the player sacrificed by Conte on Saturday.

But after another goalless return from Son, he could be the next player to make way if the Italian decides to give Richarlison the nod once again.

Son put in a decent display against the Cottagers and saw one effort hit the crossbar. The goals will soon come once again for Son as he’s clearly getting himself into decent positions.
