Alisson praises Lukaku ahead of Liverpool's clash with Chelsea
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has heaped praise on Romelu Lukaku ahead of the clash versus Chelsea this weekend.
What’s the story?
The Belgium international signed for the west Londoners in a club-record £97.5m transfer two weeks ago.
He showed off his quality on his second debut against Arsenal last week by opening the scoring. Lukaku bullied the Gunners defence all game long, in what looked like a warning to the rest of the Premier League.
In his post-match interview, the 28-year-old labelled his own display as ‘dominant‘.
Now it seems Alisson is wary of the threat the centre-forward poses as he lavished him with praise.
When talking about Lukaku, Alisson said: “He’s an amazing player. They became stronger with him but they were already strong. I don’t need to tell you about his qualities.”
Lukaku has everything to be a great
Lukaku has all the traits to bully Liverpool amid the praise from Alisson.
If Jurgen Klopp thought Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood were wrestling last week, just wait until he sees what Lukaku is capable of.
He was in prime form against Pablo Mari last week as he tormented the Spaniard throughout.
The Belgian won four aerial duels and was fouled twice against Arsenal in his first game back for Chelsea. Mikel Arteta’s men would actively back off the star as the game went on in a display of how physically he was playing.
With Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip just back from long-term injuries, tomorrow could be a massacre.
You fear for the two central defenders in a battle that will almost certainly decide the fixture.
