Alasdair Gold shares what Tottenham star Harry Kane did after full-time whistle
Football London reporter Alasdair Gold has shared an image on Twitter of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane after Wednesday evening’s full-time whistle – which shows Kane applauding the Tottenham fans by himself.
Kane, 27, was in unusually subdued form as Spurs suffered a home defeat to Dean Smith’s Aston Villa, seriously denting their hopes of European qualification. Steven Bergwijn had given Spurs the lead inside the first 10 minutes.
But two disastrous mistakes from Sergio Reguilon saw Villa turn the game on its head. An awful own goal saw Villa equalise, before Reguilon’s misplaced pass allowed England striker Ollie Watkins in behind Eric Dier to score.
Reports claim that England skipper Kane has informed Spurs he wants to leave and Gold posted a picture of him applauding Spurs fans by himself after the full-time whistle – with many suggesting it was a sort of goodbye to fans.

TBR’s view – Time to, say goodbye?
The picture certainly suggests so. While Gold reports that numerous other Tottenham players, including Gareth Bale, were in the other half of the pitch applauding the fans – the fact Kane is by himself seems like a point is being made.
No Tottenham fan can surely begrudge Kane, either. He has enjoyed his best season on a personal level in what has been a disappointing season – clocking up 48 goal involvements in 48 games. As goodbyes go, this looks clear as day.
