Steven Gerrard has insisted he is right behind striker Alfredo Morelos as Rangers prepare to face Celtic tomorrow.
The explosive striker has been a controversial figure at Ibrox since his arrival. Indeed, he picked up five red cards last season, including one at Parkhead in the Old Firm tie.

But this season has seen a stark contrast in his behaviour. Morelos has been shown red just once, instead, letting his goals do the talking for Gerrard’s men.
Including the Europa League qualifying stages, Morelos already has a whopping 28 goals. 12 of those have come in the league for Rangers in just 17 games.
And now his manager, Steven Gerrard, has backed him to be at his best against Celtic tomorrow.
“I have got no doubt he will be ready to face this challenge at the weekend. He’s in the best place he can be, his behaviour has massively improved again,” Gerrard said (Sky Sports).
“His inner resolve is an area of him that I don’t think you ever have to worry about. He’s in love with football, he doesn’t like missing one minute of training. He doesn’t like being a sub or coming off.

The sides meet at Parkhead tomorrow at 12:30. A win for Celtic will put them eight points clear of Rangers in second.
However, three points for Steven Gerrard’s side will put them just two behind the champions and with a game in hand.

There’s little doubting the ability Morelos has and there are few better goalscorers around in British football.
As Gerrard says, he just needs to keep improving his behaviour and keep his cool. Scott Brown will be out to wind him up as much as possible. The best way for Morelos to silence the Celtic man will be to stick the ball in the net.
