Alfredo Morelos ‘focused on Rangers’ and not interested in transfer rumours

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has told a radio station in his native Colombia that he is refusing to get carried away by potential transfer talk.

Steven Gerrard’s star striker had another stellar goalscoring campaign in Glasgow last term which has led to a host of recent reports linking him with a potential Ibrox exit.

But speaking to EL VBAR Caracol this week, Morelos made it clear that he was simply focused on playing for Rangers at this point in time.

“There are a lot of rumors about my future,” El Bufalo stated. “But right now I am focused on Rangers.”

Rangers will no doubt be doing everything in their power to keep hold of Morelos again this summer.

The 24-year-old scored 29 goals in 46 games last season and Rangers will not want to lose that goal-scoring threat next season, especially as the hothead appears to have somewhat tempered his ability to see red.

Recent reports have seen the striker linked with moves to Qatar, Italy, France, and England, but amid the global health, crisis teams will struggle to meet Rangers’ apparent (Daily Record) £20 million valuation of the player.

His latest comments will, therefore, have Gerrard and the Ibrox faithful excited at the possibility that their star man is not in fact on his way out of the club this summer.

Hopefully, it means plenty more goals to come from the Colombian star.
