Alfredo Morelos faces pivotal Rangers spell in next seven games

The enigma that is Rangers centre-forward Alfredo Morelos has had the chance to recharge his batteries during the international break and faces arguably his most important spell at Ibrox to date in the next month.

Steven Gerrard’s side have seven fixtures to negotiate until the next international break in November, which includes two Europa League group stage matches with Spartak Moscow.

Morelos has been a fascinating player in Scotland since he joined the Gers for £1million (BBC) in 2017 and had a mixed time.

The Colombian has proven he is a natural goalscorer  and he’s already netted 11 times in just 19 appearances this season.

But on the slip side some feel the hot-headed striker can be a major liability and he has not always delivered in the crucial matches.

Gerrard is likely to rely on Morelos to come good in the next set of fixtures and can really cement his position in the side if he performs well.

The 22-year-old committed his future to Rangers in September and supporters would love to see him knuckle down by doing his talking on the pitch, but without losing the competitive streak to his game.

He needs to try find the right balance between the two and manager Gerrard has his work cut out with him.

Morelos will silence any doubters of him if he can fire Rangers to success in Europe, while there is also a Scottish League Cup semi-final tie with Aberdeen just around the corner.
