Video: Arsenal coaches delighted at what ‘terrific’ player did in training pre-Manchester United

Arsenal have spent the week in training preparing for a crunch clash with Manchester United this weekend, with a win away at Chelsea thrown in for good measure as well.

The Gunners will entertain Ralf Rangnick’s men in fine spirits following that win at Stamford Bridge. United looked a sorry state of affairs in their own game against Liverpool, and Mikel Arteta’s side will be sniffing blood.

Of course, being in good spirits and getting the win are completely different things. But putting in the work in training ahead of the game can help. And judging by some of the clips in this weeks behind the scenes training video, it seems Arsenal’s players are doing just that.

We’ve already seen Gabriel Martinelli firing in the goals in a clinic of finishing. And another moment of quality on display came from Alexandre Lacazette, who took a fine touch during a passing drill, much to the delight of the onlooking Arsenal coaching staff (3mins, 30).

Lacazette has been playing a crucial role for the Gunners this season despite a lack of goals lately. He was dropped to the bench for the win at Chelsea, and is likely to sit it out again this weekend with Eddie Nketiah scoring twice.

It’s amazing what a win can do for the confidence of players. You only have to look at the full video to see how Arsenal’s players are much happier in their work. Lacazette’s little touch is just one moment among many in the clips.

Lacazette, as we know, is likely to leave this summer. However, he’ll surely be keen to go out with a bang. Indeed, there has even been suggestions that Mikel Arteta wants to keep the ‘terrific‘ Frenchman.

This weekend is huge for Arsenal. But if they can play as they appear to be training, then a win could be on the cards.
