Emile Smith-Rowe netted his first England goal, and both Tammy Abraham and Alexandre Lacazette have responded with the same praise on Monday.

With qualification almost all-but in the bag, England needed to beat minnows San Marino to qualify for the 2022 World Cup – avoiding a playoff.

Even though a dominant win was expected, not many would have predicted the margin of 10. England got things off to a flyer through Harry Maguire.

Bukayo Saka’s deflected effort made it two, before Harry Kane scored the first of four from the penalty spot. Smith-Rowe created his second.

Kane got another penalty, and he got a fourth before half-time. A seventh came from Smith-Rowe, after a neat touch from Tammy Abraham.

Tyrone Mings, Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham made it 10 – a brilliant win, even despite the opponents. Smith-Rowe posted on Instagram.

It is another brilliant performance from Smith-Rowe, as he his glittering form continues to rise. Another goal, and another assist.

It comes after six goal involvements in six Premier League matches, scoring four himself and laying on two assists. Smith-Rowe is on fire.

Plenty responded to his Instagram post to applaud him for his first goal, in what was his second England cap – including Lacazette and Abraham.

The two strikers gave exactly the same three-word verdict, while others including Reiss Nelson and Folarin Balogun commented an emoji.
