Alex Rae and Chris Sutton both praised Rangers after they came from behind to draw with Portuguese giants Porto 1-1 on Thursday.
Alfredo Morelos scored a clinical equaliser for the Gers to cancel out a Luis Diaz opener in the Europa League group stages.
Steven Gerrard’s team put in an incredible shift in the away fixture against Porto and are hoping they can reach the knockout rounds of the Europa League this season.
Morelos saw a fierce header blocked on the goal-line to deny Rangers a winner, but at the other end goalkeeper Allan McGregor came to the rescue with a colossus double save late on
Ex-Gers midfielder Rae hailed his former side on Twitter following their European performance on the road.
Tremendous performance from @RangersFC here in Porto so much to admire and take a valuable point back to Glasgow .

Meanwhile, pundit Sutton on Twitter felt that the Light Blues were perhaps unfortunate not to walk away with three points.
Good performance from Rangers… deserved more

Gerrard should certainly be delighted with his Rangers team following their efforts away to Portugal, as they proved that they can compete in the Europa League and they are well placed now in their group.
The Scottish outfit sit second in their tight group table at the halfway point, but two of their three remaining games are at home and they should be confident at Ibrox.
Gerrard has certainly taken the club so far forward during his reign in charge, but his success will be measured by silverware in domestic competitions and qualification to the knockout rounds in Europe.
