Preston North End boss Alex Neil has raved about his opposite number Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United ahead of a meeting between the two teams.
Neil believes that Whites manager Bielsa has made a phenomenal impact at Elland Road during his first season and is a big admirer of his style of football.
Leeds travel to Deepdale on Tuesday night to face Preston in a crucial league fixture, as they look to overtake second-placed Sheffield United into an automatic promotion spot.
The Yorkshire giants beat Preston 3-0 at home earlier in the season, but the latter are 10th-placed in the Championship table and are still mathematically in the race for a play-off position.
“I think they have been my favourite team – apart from my own – to watch this season. I think they have been excellent,” Neil said, as quoted by the official Preston website.
“For Bielsa to come over and not speak much English and to get his team playing in the manner that they do, is absolutely remarkable. You can see he is very, very good at what he does.”
Bielsa’s impact at Leeds really has been something quite special and you’d find it almost impossible to find anyone in the city that doesn’t love him.
He has transformed the team into a serious outfit without too much investment, but there is still plenty of work to do in the remaining six league games.
They are a point behind Sheffield United and it looks like the race for the Premier League could go down to the wire.
Leeds really will want to miss out on the play-offs and that’s why it’s crucial they try pick up three points on the road against Preston.
